Create a group
Below given two methods can be used to create group:
1. From the discovery page
Important: The group
creator is the default group admin.
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Under 'People', tap Add + >
Create group.
c. Select the contacts that you want to add. You can add up to 100 members.
d. Tap Done.
2. From the chat page
Important: The group
creator is the default group admin.
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. In the top right, tap More > Start
a group chat.
c. Select the contacts that you want to add. You can add up to 100 members.
d. Tap Done.

Manage a group
By using below given methods, one can manage their group:
1. Edit the group name
Important: Any group
member can edit the group name. The group name is visible to all
members.
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group that you want to edit.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
settings.
· You can also tap the group conversation app bar > Group settings.
d. Tap the current group name.
e. Enter a new group name of up to 20 characters.
2. Add group members
Important: Groups
can have up to 100 members.
a. Invite your contacts
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group chat to which you want to add members.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
settings.
· You can also tap the group conversation app bar > Group settings.
d. At the top, in the group members section, tap Add +.
e. Select the contacts that you want to invite.
f. Tap Done.
b. Invite by link
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group chat to which you want to add members.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
settings > Invite
people by link.
· You can also tap the group conversation app bar > Group settings > Invite people by link.
d. Select an invitation option:
· To copy the invitation link to your clipboard, tap Copy link.
· To share the invitation link via WhatsApp, Messenger, Twitter or
Facebook, tap Share link.
· To reset an expired invitation link, tap Reset link.
c. Invite by QR code
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group chat you want to add members to.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
Settings > Invite
people via QR code.
d. To have people join your group, download and share the QR code.
Tip: To
reset your QR code, in the top right of the screen where you have the QR code,
click More , then select Reset QR. Your current link and QR
code will be deactivated and replaced with a new one.
3. Remove group members
Important: Only the group
admin can remove group members.
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group chat from which you want to remove members.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
settings.
· You can also tap the group conversation app bar > Group settings.
d. At the top, in the group members section, tap Remove Θ.
e. Select the contacts that you want to remove.
f. Tap Done > Yes.
4. Leave a group
Important: After you
leave a group, the chat history is removed. If the admin leaves the group,
the second person to join is the new admin.
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group that you want to leave.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group
settings > Leave group.

You can also tap the group
conversation app bar > Group
settings > Leave group.
Tip: You
can delete the group and chat history when you leave a group. In the group
conversation, in the top right, select Delete group.
5. Turn off notifications
for a group
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to the group that you want to mute.
c. In the top right, tap More > Group settings > Notifications.
· You can also tap the group conversation app bar > Group settings > Notifications.
d. Turn notifications off.
6. Turn off notifications
for all messages
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Go to Settings > Notifications.
c. Turn Notifications off. This controls both private and group
chat messages.
7. Report an issue
a. On your device, open Google Pay.
b. Select the group for which you want to report the issue.
c. In the top right, tap More > Report group > Report.
Note: Please
note that Google Pay will review the group and its recent messages for spam and
other activity.
