How to Set up Google Pay
You can use Google Pay to send or request money from family
and friends using a mobile phone. You can also pay your utility bills and
recharge your prepaid phone using Google Pay.
Note: You'll need a Google account, an
active Indian (+91) phone number and an active Indian bank account to set up
Google Pay.

Google Pay.
• Enter
your phone number.
• Sign
in with your Google Account.
• Select
Use screen lock to use your existing pattern, PIN, fingerprint, or password
that you use to lock your phone. If you use the screen lock option, you'll be
able to use Google Pay without having to enter the lock code if you open the
app within a few seconds of unlocking your device.

Use Google PIN to use Google PIN.
Tip: Your
fingerprint information isn't shared with the app. Learn more about Unlock with

• Tap
Add bank account.
• Choose
your bank from the list. If you can’t find your bank, it doesn’t work with
Google Pay.
Tip: 1. To send a verification SMS to your
bank, you need to give Google Pay permission. Standard SMS charges apply.

For dual-SIM devices,
check your outgoing SMS settings. If your SMS is set to 'Ask every time' for
which SIM card the SMS should be sent from, you need to change this setting.
a.
Select Settings > SIM
cards > Dual-SIM settings.
b.
For SMS, select the phone
number associated with your bank.
• Select
the account that you want to add from the list of accounts.
• To verify your account, you need to add your debit card details.

You can also use your
Aadhaar to verify your account.

Ensure that your Aadhaar
is linked to the same mobile number that's registered with the bank account
that you want to add on Google Pay.
a.
To find the mobile number
linked to your Aadhaar number, visit https://uidai.gov.in.
b.
Tap Select preferred language
and then My Aadhaar and then Aadhaar services and then Verify email/mobile
number.
Tip: If you can’t find the option
to link your bank account to Google Pay through an Aadhaar number, contact your
bank. To obtain contact details for your bank, visit www.digisaathi.info.
• Enter the first six digits of your Aadhaar number and follow the on-screen instructions.

To create a UPI PIN,
follow the on-screen instructions.

UPI PIN: You'll be asked to enter it.
2.
If you don’t remember your
PIN: Tap Forgot PIN and follow the instructions.
