Deluge Overview

Deluge contains the standard features for BitTorrent clients such as Protocol Encryption, DHT, Local Peer Discovery (LSD), Peer Exchange (PEX), UPnP, NAT-PMP, Proxy support, Web seeds, and global and per-torrent speed limits. As BitTorrent Client heavily utilizes the ​libtorrent library, it has a comprehensive list of the features provided.

This BitTorrent Client has been designed to run as a regular standalone desktop application and as a ​client-server. In Thinclient mode, a Deluge daemon handles all the BitTorrent activity and can run on headless machines with the user interfaces connecting remotely from any other platform.

It features a rich plugin collection; most of its functionality is available in the form of plugins. It was created to be lightweight and unobtrusive. We believe that downloading shouldn't be the primary task on your computer and, therefore, shouldn't monopolize system resources. It is not designed for any desktop environment and will work fine in GNOME, KDE, XFCE, and others.
